WhatsApp May Soon Let You Disable Your Camera Before Answering Video Calls

March 12, 2025 – WhatsApp is testing a new privacy feature that allows users to turn off their camera before answering video calls. This update, currently in beta testing, aims to enhance user control and privacy during video interactions. WhatsApp is testing a new feature to let users disable the camera before answering video calls. WhatsApp’s New Video Call Privacy Feature WhatsApp beta version 2.25.7.3 for Android introduces a significant change: the ability to disable video before answering a call. Currently, when users accept a video call, their camera turns on automatically. The new feature will provide an option to “Turn off your video” before picking up the call.
