Google is rolling out a refreshed version of its iconic 'G' logo for the first time in nearly ten years, and the new design aligns more closely with its evolving brand identity in the era of AI and Gemini.

The redesigned 'G' replaces the older solid-color segment style with a smoother, gradient-inspired look. The updated version blends the familiar red, yellow, green, and blue hues in a more dynamic, polished fashion—creating a more vibrant and unified appearance.
Back in September 2015, Google introduced a major brand overhaul that included a switch to the Product Sans typeface for its full "Google" wordmark. The update also replaced the lowercase white "g" on a blue background with the now-familiar four-colored uppercase "G" logo. That symbol has remained untouched for nearly a decade—until now.
In the latest redesign, the hard-separated color blocks have been removed, and the transition between shades is smoother, with red fading into yellow, green, and then blue. This aligns visually with Google's Gemini AI branding and the softer gradient aesthetic seen in recent design updates, including AI-powered features in Search.
For now, this new 'G' logo appears only in the iOS version of the Google Search app, which was updated recently. However, it is expected that the refreshed design will roll out across other platforms and services soon.
With this change, Google is not just updating a logo—it’s signaling its vision for a more fluid, AI-integrated future.
