AI Student Battles ASUS India Over Defective Laptop, Seeks Justice After 1.5 Years of Legal Delays

Student battles ASUS India over faulty ₹3 lakh laptop; 1.5 years of court delays threaten his AI Master's degree.

Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan — Krishna Garg, a dedicated student pursuing a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence, has taken to social media with a heartfelt plea after enduring 1.5 years of unresolved issues with ASUS India. In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), Krishna shared his painful journey of battling for justice after purchasing a high-end ASUS laptop that began malfunctioning within six months.

A Costly Investment Gone Wrong

On July 6, 2023, Krishna purchased a ₹3,00,000 ASUS laptop with an extended warranty, hoping it would support his rigorous academic journey. However, his experience soon turned into a nightmare. The laptop began exhibiting severe issues — from performance drops to persistent screen flickering — jeopardizing his academic work.

Despite raising multiple complaints, ASUS’s after-sales service failed to offer a solution. “The first time, the engineer came without the required part. The second time, without thermal paste,” Krishna said. “Each visit only added to my mental stress and wasted precious time.”

Legal Struggles and Delayed Justice

After receiving no resolution, Krishna demanded a refund or a replacement, but ASUS reportedly declined both requests without offering a viable solution. Left with no choice, he filed a case in the Consumer Court in Sri Ganganagar. Unfortunately, what was meant to bring relief only brought further frustration.

“For 1.5 years, all I’ve received are new dates,” Krishna wrote. “No hearings, no verdict. Strikes and administrative issues keep pushing my case further into the future.”

He describes the toll this delay has taken: “My Master’s is time-bound. Will I get justice after I fail?”

A Call for Accountability

Krishna has reached out to every major authority — from ASUS’s top executives to Indian legal and consumer rights bodies including NALSA, DLSA, NCDRC, and even the Supreme Court. Despite his persistence, he says he has been met with silence.

“My father is a paralysis patient. We borrowed money for my laptop and education. I am not asking for favors — only for accountability,” he says.

The student has even recorded video evidence of ASUS technicians admitting fault, yet his claims remain unaddressed by the company.

Seeking Support From Citizens and Media

“I am mentally broken, financially helpless, and academically at risk,” Krishna writes in his viral appeal. “I have no option left but to ask for help from my fellow citizens.”

He has urged the public, journalists, and tech influencers to amplify his voice. Notable accounts and organizations tagged in his post include @ASUSIndia, @GoI_MeitY, @jagograhakjago, @NALSA_India, @GyanTherapy, @TrakinTech, and others.

“Even one repost could help me reach someone who can truly make a difference.”

Final Word

Krishna Garg's story is not just about a faulty laptop — it reflects the challenges faced by countless consumers in India who often find themselves fighting an uphill battle for justice. It also raises serious questions about customer service, corporate accountability, and the speed of our legal system.

As Krishna says:

“I’ll crawl if I have to, but please help me. I just want to study.”
